Spot Goes Green: Best Practices for a Better Future

In 2010, I produced a panel discussion with Wiredrive and AICP that shed light on how production companies could reduce their carbon footprint. The panel was moderated by owner of Hype Public Relations, Jessie Nagel, who went on to co-found the non-profit industry organization "Green the Bid,” which works to establish sustainable commercial productions.

Panelists included:

  • Shelley Billik – VP of Environmental Initiatives, Warner Bros.

  • Lisa Day – Associate Director, Fox Filmed Entertainment Energy Initiative

  • Isadora Chesler – Senior Producer, Deutsch LA; Co-founder, GLASS

  • Bonnie Goldfarb – Executive Producer, Harvest

  • Gabe Ramos – Environmental Health and Safety Director, 24/7 Studio Equipment

  • Bill Sewell – Co-founder, Wiredrive

The event, which took place at Ground Zero Advertising, was attended by over 100 people. Though there was plenty of serious discussion, there was also plenty of responsible consumption! We offered fresh organic coconut water and organic chef, Daniel Edlund, provided appetizers and talked about how organic foods, in addition to tasting better, have less impact on the environment.

The video recap was published to our blog and shared on social media.

Erika with Jessie Nagel, Hype PR at an AICP Holiday Party

Erika and I collaborated on many occasions creating industry events, covering events via specialty blog postings and more. She is smart as a whip, a creative & strategic thinker, incredibly organized and cares deeply about any project with which she is involved. In short, an excellent partner or colleague in any endeavor.
